My fellow Comrades in Arms of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, our Auxiliary and American Patriots who support those who go into harms way to defend America.
As many of you know, the House of Representatives may take action on the Take Care of America's Veterans Act (TCAVA) as early as next week. The decisions made in the coming days could have lasting consequences for future generations of veterans.
The VFW National Legislative Service is organizing a Hill Mobilization on Tuesday, July 14, and Wednesday, July 15, followed by a press conference on Thursday, July 16, at 11:30 a.m. on the House Triangle.
I recognize that this message is reaching leaders across the country. Traveling to Washington on short notice is not easy, and I know it comes with both personal and financial costs. I also know that many of you already have commitments and travel planned.
If you are already planning to be in the Washington, D.C., area next week, or if attending is within your ability, I ask that you to join us.
Leadership matters, especially at moments like this.
Every additional advocate helps us reach more congressional offices. Every conversation reinforces the VFW's position. Every leader who shows up demonstrates that our organization is united in protecting the earned benefits of today's and tomorrow's veterans.
If you plan to participate, please complete the registration form no later thanSunday, July 12, at 11:59 p.m. ET.
VFW Capitol Hill TCAVA Mobilization Registration Form:
VFW Capitol Hill TCAVA Mobilization, July 14-16, 2026 – Fill out form
Completing the registration form is essential. The National Legislative Service will use it to develop advocacy teams, coordinate office coverage, and begin requesting congressional meetings. If someone intends to participate, they must register so NLS can plan accordingly.
If you know members, Auxiliary members, or other advocates in your department who may already be traveling to Washington, or who could reasonably make the trip, I ask that you personally encourage them to participate as well. A direct invitation from a trusted leader often makes the difference.
Thank you for your leadership and for everything you do on behalf of the VFW and those we serve. I appreciate your continued commitment to ensuring Congress hears directly from the veterans and families who will be affected by its decisions.
Favor fortunes the brave, so let's be brave and bold just as we were when deployed.
Please share this email with everyone on all available channels.
